Fall’s Got It All
FALL FASHION
Everyday Runway columnist Melissa Berry combines practical and popular to bring you a roundup of fall fits that’ll warm up your wardrobe.

I love the summer. Hitting the beach, taking a dip in the pool and simply being outside feels so invigorating to me—especially after a long winter.

However, I do find myself craving the smell of hot apple cider and the warmth of a chunky sweater. Fall can be such a delicious time of year, especially when it comes to fashion. I’ve always loved treating myself to a new pair of boots, a great turtleneck and even a versatile transitional jacket until it’s time to really bundle up for the winter.

Do I follow the trends that I see in the top fashion magazines and on the runway? Sometimes. But as fabulous as they are to look at, they may not be that wearable for daily life like running to Whole Foods to grab some almond milk or going to a doctor’s appointment. It’s fun to get dressed up, but it’s important to remain somewhat practical.

For fall 2021, I did my homework and researched the top trends so I could offer up some great (yet very wearable) options for you to update your wardrobe with. This is a perfect time to edit your closet and get rid of the old to make room for the new.

Edgy Yet Elegant

Let’s start with the fitted leather jacket. If you have a motorcycle jacket that you love, then blow the dust off of it and pair it with a classic white T-shirt and your favorite pair of jeans. If you’re interested in something more streamlined and feminine (and more of an investment piece), I’d say check out this beauty from Ralph Lauren available at Dillard’s, $595.

Cut in the style of a traditional blazer, the notch lapel, four-button cuffs and back princess seams offer up the edginess of a leather jacket with a super feminine, elegant touch. This is definitely a wardrobe builder and a versatile piece that you can wear over a dress or with jeans or leggings.
Clogs Are Back!

I can remember begging my mom for clogs back in the ‘70s. If I remember correctly, I was allowed to get them but couldn’t wear them to school. Well, we’re all grown up now and so is the classic clog! Thank you Steve Madden for bringing us the “Brooklyn” clog, $99.95.

Trimmed in pyramid studs and lined with faux fur, this too-cool-for-school clog offers a chill, cozy take on the classic. I think I may have to hide these from my teenage daughters!

Call of the Wild

Animal prints are always in style, but the leopard print is especially popular these days. MASKC offers up this fabulous 10 pack of animal print masks for only $18!

These face masks feature the highest-quality premium material with soft-touch texture and gentle ear loops to look amazing and feel comfortable all day. No washing and no extra filters are necessary. Each pack comes with 10 masks and a resealable bag for safe storage and easy travel. Safety has never looked so good!

Let’s take this animal print trend one step further and check out this show-stopping blouse by Paige ($229). A sophisticated take on our favorite animal print, this feminine long-sleeved blouse is crafted from lightweight and airy crinkled silk chiffon with an adjustable neck tie for a chic twist. Style it with your favorite pair of jeans for a more casual look, or wear it with a great pair of black pants to dress it up.

Relax…

The classic black pant has a much more relaxed look this season, perfect for those of us who are working from home but still want to look professional. I searched far and wide and was so glad to find these perfect pants by ADAY which can be purchased from The Lobby ($180). They’re stretchy, high-waist and offer up a loose, tapered leg making them universally flattering. There are even double-lined hems for ease of rolling up for a more casual weekend look.

There you have it! A fall 2021 trend roundup of items that are easy to wear and can be enjoyed for seasons to come because they are all true, timeless classics. Even the clog. Right, mom?
